Keepers Privacy Policy

Keepers is built so that we couldn't see your data even if we wanted to. The app has no servers, no accounts, no analytics and no third-party code.

Everything Keepers does with your photos happens on your iPhone or iPad.

In short

Keepers collects nothing, and your photos are sorted, scanned and stored only on your device.

What we collect1

Nothing. Keepers collects no personal data, no analytics, no crash reports, no identifiers and no usage statistics. Not from anyone, ever.

Your photos4

All photo access happens on your device through Apple's Photos framework, with permission you grant in iOS.
Photos and videos are never uploaded to us, sent to anyone or analyzed remotely. The only time a photo leaves Keepers is when you share it yourself with the share button.
Filing a photo into an album or creating a new album changes your Photos library, and happens only when you tap to do it.
Deleting photos always requires your explicit confirmation through the iOS system dialog, and deleted items follow Apple's standard 30-day Recently Deleted recovery.

On-device analysis3

Junk Sweep and Similar Shots analyze your photos with Apple's Vision framework, on your device. They check things like brightness, sharpness, faces and text, and compare photos taken close together.
On iOS 27 with Apple Intelligence turned on, Keepers also asks Apple's on-device language model to look at photos the first check is unsure about. This runs on your device, and Keepers does not use Apple's cloud models.
The scans only read copies of your photos already on your device. They never download anything from iCloud.

What stays on your device3

Keepers keeps a few things in its own storage on your device: which photos you've sorted, what's waiting in the trash tray, your album and order settings, and today's free sort count.
It also keeps the scan results, so photos aren't checked twice: why a photo was flagged (sometimes a short description, such as a receipt from a cafe) and a compact numeric fingerprint of each photo used to spot similar shots.
None of this is sent to us. Like any app's data, it is included in your device backups if you make them, and deleting Keepers removes it.

Apple services4

Keepers makes no network connections to us or to anyone else. Some features use Apple's own services, which Apple runs under its own privacy policy.
If you use iCloud Photos with Optimize iPhone Storage, Photos may download a full-size copy from your iCloud when you view or share a photo that isn't stored on your device.
Prices, purchases and restores go through the App Store. The occasional rating prompt is Apple's standard one.
Share with a friend, Rate Keepers and the papermint studio link open the App Store or our website only when you tap them.

Permissions2

Photos: to show your photos and videos for sorting, file them into albums, scan them for junk and similar shots, and delete them when you confirm. You can choose Full or Limited Access, or turn it off, in Settings at any time.
Keepers asks for no other permissions: no camera, location, contacts, microphone or tracking.

Purchases1

The one-time Premium unlock is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details. Apple's privacy policy governs that transaction.

Children1

Keepers collects no data from anyone, including children.

Changes1

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new effective date. Since Keepers sends nothing to us, any future change could only apply to future versions of the app.
