Tap Sort Photos on the home screen. Your unsorted photos and videos are dealt one at a time, newest first.
Swipe left keeps the photo. It stays in your library and won't be shown again.
Swipe up moves it to Keepers' trash tray. Nothing is deleted yet.
Tap an album chip under the photo to file it into that album straight away. The New Album chip creates a new album in Photos and files the photo into it.
Tap the photo to see it full screen, with Keep and Trash buttons at the top. Tap the share button on the photo to send it anywhere.
Undo (the curved arrow at the top) takes back your last sort. Undo history isn't kept once the app is closed.
Tap Select above the photo to sort many at once. Pick photos in a grid grouped by day, then choose Keep, Add to album or Trash. One undo takes back the whole batch.

Everything you swipe up or sweep waits in the trash tray (the trash button at the top right, or the Trash card on the home screen). It stays there even if you close the app.
Open it to review. Tap any photo to put it back in the deck, or tap Restore All.
Tap the red Delete button to remove the whole batch at once. iOS asks for one final confirmation, and nothing leaves your library until you say yes.
Deleted items go to the Recently Deleted album in Photos, where you can recover them for 30 days. If you use iCloud Photos, a delete also removes the photo from your other devices.
Space freed is an estimate, so Keepers shows it with a ~.

Junk Sweep quietly scans your unsorted photos on your device and groups what it finds: Accidental videos (under 2 seconds), Tiny images, Too dark, Blurry, Documents & notes such as receipts and whiteboards, Old screenshots (older than 30 days), Forwards & memes from chat-app albums, and Photos of screens.
Everything found arrives pre-selected. Tap a photo to keep it, or use Keep all on a section. Hold a thumbnail to see it bigger and why it was flagged.
Photos you've marked as Favorites in Apple Photos are never flagged.
On iOS 27 with Apple Intelligence turned on, Keepers asks Apple's on-device model for a second look at photos it isn't sure about. That is what finds photos of screens and tells chat forwards from real photos. Without it, the other checks still run.
The first scan of a big library takes a while. Keepers remembers every result, so later scans only look at new photos.

Similar Shots finds several takes of the same moment, taken within a minute of each other, and picks the best one by sharpness, faces and open eyes. The best take wears a Best badge.
The extras arrive pre-selected. Tap any photo to change that, or use Keep all on a group.
A photo you've marked as a Favorite in Apple Photos always wins as the best take, and favorites are never pre-selected.

The free plan sorts 25 photos a day. Keeping, trashing and filing into an album each count as one. The count resets at midnight, and undoing a sort or restoring a photo from the trash gives it back.
On the free plan, Junk Sweep and Similar Shots still show everything they find. Premium unlocks the one-tap Sweep button in both.
Keepers Premium is a one-time purchase of $8.99 (prices vary by country) that unlocks unlimited sorting and the one-tap sweeps forever. No subscription.
To buy it, tap Go Pro on the home screen, then Unlock Forever. Once it's active the chip reads Pro.

Premium is tied to your Apple Account, so it works on your iPhone and iPad. On a new device or after reinstalling, it usually comes back on its own.
If it doesn't, tap Go Pro on the home screen, then Restore Purchase. Make sure you're signed in with the Apple Account you bought it with.
If a purchase needs approval (Ask to Buy), Premium turns on by itself once it's approved.

Keepers only deals photos that aren't in an album yet. Filing a photo into an album counts as sorting it.
Albums made by messaging apps (WhatsApp, Telegram and friends) don't count, so their photos still show up. To change this, tap the gear in Sort Photos, then Albums. Switch an album on to skip its photos, or off to sort them again.
The same gear menu sets the Order: Newest first, Oldest first or Shuffled.
Once everything is sorted, Sort Again deals the photos you kept once more. Photos filed into albums or waiting in the trash aren't dealt again.
Junk Sweep and Similar Shots look at the same unsorted photos, so a photo you've already kept or filed won't appear there.

Keepers says photo access is off. Open Settings, then Apps, then Keepers, then Photos, and choose Full Access. The app picks up right where you left off.
If you choose Limited Access, Keepers can only see the photos you picked. To sort your whole library, switch to Full Access in the same place.
Keepers needs access that can make changes, because filing into albums and deleting both change your library.

My progress reset after I reinstalled. Sorting history and the trash tray live on your device and are removed with the app, so a fresh install starts fresh. Nothing in the trash tray was deleted, and your photos and albums are never affected.
Some photos weren't scanned. The scans only use copies already on your device and never download from iCloud. If you use Optimize iPhone Storage, some photos may be checked later or with less detail.
Do my photos leave my phone? No. Keepers has no servers and sends your photos nowhere, unless you share one yourself. See the privacy policy.
